As summer fades out, leaves turn beautiful shades of orange and yellow and cover the ground in beautiful blankets, autumn shows its true beauty to us. A less conventional autumnal wedding can be the most special- with many of our September and October days seeing sunshine and crisp air, and splashes of colour framing a wonderful day. With theautumn bride cool, dark nights drawing in a little sooner, wedding wish lanterns will still make a unique and exciting addition to your special day, and your guests will marvel as they release them with wishes for the newly weds.
We’ve found some other great tips for an autumn wedding, including what to serve your guests at the reception, and colours that will look great for the season:
- How about using dark browns, oranges and burgundies to decorate the venue? You could even take advantage of the gifts that the natural world provides at this time of year- conkers, large leaves and acorns will also help you save money on table centre pieces.
- Fill your guests up with a cosy menu; how about a lovely filling roast dinner, followed by a seasonal fruit crumble. Freshly picked blackberries are always a treat.
- Flowers for the bridal party can also be customised with berries, grasses and leaves- your guests will be so impressed at your resourcefulness, and it’ll help save the pennies!
