When you say those vow till death do us part, are people not taking it seriously anymore? It seems the celebrity world certainly isn’t. Are they flocking down the aisle for publicity or are they just bored? Britney Spears and Jason Alexander hold the record for the shortest celebrity marriage, lasting only a few hours before they filed for an annulment – but with a last minute Las Vegas wedding who ever thought they were serious?
So who else makes the cut? The next couple to rival Britney and Jason, lasting a measley eight days is actor Dennis Hopper and Michelle Phillips. They lasted just over a week, I wonder what happened?
Next with another Las Vegas disaster wedding, is superstar Cher and musician Gregg Allman. These two managed to get one up on Hopper and Phillips with their marriage lasting nine days. Cher obviously doesn’t take her marriage vows seriously, it was only three days after divorcing Sonny Bono, that she and Gregg Allman spontaneously flew to Vegas in his jet to get hitched. Apparently it was his drug and alcohol problems that were too much for her, and filed for divorce after only nine days.
Drew Barrymore comes in next with her short-lived marriage to Jeremy Thomas. This couple stayed true to their vows for 30 days before filing for divorce. Drew is no stranger to short-lived marriages, she was also married to Tom Green for five months before divorcing him as well. Clearly not missing the married life, Drew is the gal about town and clearly loving her life as a singleton.
We doubt any of these couples used Wedding Lanterns at their weddings, perhaps if they did they wouldn’t have raced to the divorce courts so soon.
